Jew Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Hospitalized 11-Year-Old Girl

Haredi Man Arrested For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Hospitalized 11-Year-Old Girl

A resident of the haredi town of Modi’in Ilit was reportedly arrested Friday for allegedly sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl hospitalized in Jerusalem.

A source at the hospital told Ynet that the girl and the son of man were hospitalized in the same room. The police believe the man sexually abused the girl while watching her at the request of her parents.

The girl complained about the abuse to a nurse and the nurse called police. Police arrived as Shabbat was coming in and arrested the man.

A remand hearing held last night at the Magistrate's Court, and the suspect allegedly admitted some of the offenses attributed to him.

"The suspect was questioned and tied himself to the event,” Sergeant Michael Hazani told Ynet.

The police asked to extend the detention of the suspect, saying that they needed additional time to investigate the crime and that they feared that the suspect may tamper with the child's testimony because he knows where she is.

The court agreed and extended the suspect’s detention for three days. The child is expected to give testimony as soon as she is well enough.
