The only democracy in the ME: Zionist troops detain TV crew, 19 others in West Bank

Zionist regime soldiers have detained five Palestinian TV crew members at the Surda military checkpoint and arrested 19 civilians elsewhere in the occupied West Bank.

The Watan Media Center said that soldiers forced the TV crew to sit on the ground and confiscated all their equipment at the Surda military checkpoint close to the West Bank city of Ramallah on Tuesday.

The Israeli soldiers also forced hundreds of cars to wait at the same checkpoint and prevented Palestinians from leaving or going into Ramallah.

As usual, the soldiers did not give any reasons for their actions.

In another incident, Israeli troops entered a number of West Bank towns, ransacked homes, and kidnapped 19 Palestinian civilians on the same day.

Palestinian sources said that seven were taken from Qalqilia in the northern West Bank as well as two from Bethlehem and three from Hebron (al-Khalil), both in the southern West Bank.

Israeli soldiers also attacked homes in Azon Atmah village near Qalqilia and kidnapped seven civilians, among them two children. The army claimed that those kidnapped had hurled stones at a nearby settlers' road.
