Former Prez Carter Says ‘Very Happy’ About the YU Award Ceremony

Former President Jimmy Carter met at City Hall yesterday with Mayor Bloomberg before heading to Cardozo Law School to receive an award that angry alumni and Jewish groups said he didn't deserve.

A scholarly journal at the law school — which is part of Yeshiva University — honored Carter as an "international advocate for peace."

Jewish organizations and alumni protested the award, charging that the 88-year-old ex-president has been a consistent critic of Israel.

When asked if he'd be willing to act as a mediator to defuse tensions with North Korea, Carter said he'd already been there three times and would return if invited and cleared by the White House to go.

A protester outside trashes Jews yelling then “Round’Em Up.”

A by-stander tells him “you should be locked up,” to which the he responded “F… You!”
