Rabbi Todros Grynhaus skipped bail bail in the UK and, using the passport of another hasid arranged for him by a wealthy UK haredi man, fled to Israel. Is he back in the UK now?

I'm told that he is.

Grynhaus was spotted in Israel by someone who knows his family and he was reported to British police. Over the past few days I've been told by several sources who should know that Grynhaus was arrested in Israel.

And now some of those sources has told me that Grynhaus is back in the UK and on his way to Manchester police.

But how could he be deported so quickly?

1. Because Grynhaus entered Israel illegally, the Israelis may have not have aforded Grynhaus the protection it usually gives to Jews – even Jews skipping bail in democratic countries.

2. Grynhaus may not have asked for Israeli citizenship, meaning he would not have the automatic protections an Israeli citizen would have.

3. Grynhaus could have waved extradition.

At any rate, it seems that Rabbi Todros Grynhaus may soon be in a UK prison awaiting trial.

In December, Grynhaus, of the Salford area of Manchester, was charged with six counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual assault against three minors, all under 15. He pleaded not guilty.
