Israel Real Threat to Global Peace, Security

A senior Iranian diplomat blasted the former Israeli ambassador to Armenia for his claims against Tehran's peaceful nuclear program, and said the Zionist regime, as the only nuclear armed regime in the Middle-East, is the real threat to the international peace and security.

The Iranian embassy attaché in Yerevan said a look at Israel's large numbers of nuclear warheads as well as its crimes against the innocent Palestinian children and women reveals that Israel is the real and actual threat to global peace and security.

"A regime which always threatens others cannot speak of security," he said in a conference in Yerevan on Monday.

Israel is believed to be the sole possessor of nuclear arms in the Middle East with over 200 ready-to-launch warheads in its stockpile.

During the last three decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran has seized every opportunity to make the international bodies aware of the threat posed by the Zionist regime's nuclear weapons to the world community.

This is while Iran's nuclear program is a peaceful drive to produce electricity so that the world's fourth-largest crude exporter can sell more of its oil and gas abroad. Tehran stresses that the country is pursuing a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

Israel, the US and its western allies allege that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program while they have never presented corroborative evidence to substantiate their allegations against the Islamic Republic.

Iran is under four rounds of UN Security Council sanctions and the western unilateral embargos for turning down West's calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment, saying the demand is politically-tainted and illogical.
