Israel is a corrupt microbe on way to collapse

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has proclaimed Israel a corrupt microbe on its way to collapse, in a speech marking Iran's annual Army Day on Sunday.

Ahmadinejad said that Israel is the "main instigator of conflict" in the Middle East and that regional powers want it uprooted, the French news agency AFP reported on Sunday.

"The Zionist regime is on its way to collapse," said the Iranian president. "This is the will of the regional nations and that after 60 odd years, the root of this corrupt microbe and the main reason for insecurity in the region be pulled out."

Ahmadinejad, who is known for his anti-Israel rhetoric and Holocaust denial, called on the world to cease supporting Israel and its actions.

"I want [Israel's] supporters and creators to stop backing it and allow the regional nations and the Palestinians to settle things with them," he said.

On Saturday, Iran's president accused the world of allowing Israel to have nuclear weapons while banning Iran from "making peaceful use of nuclear energy."

"The Zionist regime which has over 200 nuclear warheads and has waged several wars in the region is fully supported by Washington and its allies," Ahmadinejad said on Saturday at the opening of the International Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation in Tehran.
