TURKMENISTAN: FOREIGN MINISTERS TO FINALIZE ISRAELI DIPLOMATIC PRESENCE
Reuven Dinel was expelled from Moscow for espionage.
Russia is wary of Israel’s alleged choice for Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Reuven Dinel, claiming he worked for the Mossad at the Israeli embassy in Moscow until he was expelled from the country in 1996.
Turkmen and Israeli officials will meet on the sidelines of an OSCE ministerial summit to finalize the appointment of Israel’s first full-time ambassador to the Central Asian state.
Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Lieberman, were expected to meet in Athens, Greece, on December 1.
Reuven Dinel, an alleged Mossad agent expelled from Moscow in 1996, is expected to take up the ambassadorial post in Ashgabat early next year, the news agency CA-News.org reported.
