"Captain R" (IDF security pseudonym used) was charged with illegal use of a weapon, and 'Conduct unbecoming an officer'. On January 7th, 2007, Justices Edmond Levy, Aharon Barak and Salim Joubran acknowledged the killing was accidental, due to a battalion directive on the Army's official rules of engagement.
