Fox News chief apologizes for Nazi remark

Fox News chief Roger Ailes apologized to the Anti-Defamation League for calling National Public Radio executives "Nazis."

Ailes made the comment in an interview with the Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz, who was canvassing recent controversies about the right-leaning news channel. Ailes hired Juan Williams, a commentator, full time after NPR fired Williams for saying on a Fox News report that he feared seeing Muslims on airplanes. In the interview, Ailes also said said "left-wing rabbis" make it difficult to use the term "Holocaust" on air.

On Thursday, Ailes issued an apology to the ADL -- the organization from which offending American public figures typically seek mea culpas after making anti-Jewish remarks. Ailes wrote he was sorry for using the term Nazi. "I was of course ad-libbing and should not have chosen that word,” he wrote, “but I was angry at the time because of NPR’s willingness to censor Juan Williams for not being liberal enough.”

The ADL's national director, Abraham Foxman, accepted the apology.“I welcome Roger Ailes apology, which is as sincere as it is heartfelt,” Foxman said in a statement. “While I wish Roger had never invoked that terminology, I appreciate his efforts to immediately reach out and to retract his words before they did any further harm.”

Just prior to ADL's publication of the apology, Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) went to the U.S. House of Representatives floor to denounce Ailes.

"Mr. Ailes should apologize for these despicable statements of total insensitivity which should not be connected to a president of a major news organization," Engel said.

Williams and NPR long had feuded over Williams' work on Fox, where he worked as a commentator and tended to express opinions rather than the analytical voice NPR says it expects from its employees.

"They are, of course, Nazis," Ailes said of NPR executives. "They have a kind of Nazi attitude. They are the left wing of Nazism. These guys don’t want any other point of view. They don’t even feel guilty using tax dollars to spout their propaganda."

Ailes also commented on the recent controversy involving Fox News commentator Glenn Beck and liberal billionaire George Soros. Beck, citing Soros' writings and interviews, said several days earlier that Soros as a teenager in Nazi-occupied Hungary had helped send Jews to death camps and had confiscated their properties.

A number of Jewish groups complained in Soros' defense, saying that Beck was using a survivor's experience of Nazi oppression to incriminate him in Nazi crimes. But Fox has stood by Beck.

In his writings, Soros has described living as a Christian in order to save his life. In one case, he accompanied his Christian protector to a Jewish-owned property to catalog goods; the owner already had fled. In another, he delivered summonses from the local Jewish council to local Jewish lawyers, but on his father's advice warned the lawyers to flee as the summonses likely indicated deportation.

Ailes also complained to Kurtz that there are "left-wing rabbis who basically don’t think that anybody can ever use the word 'Holocaust' on the air.”

Canadian PM: I Will Defend Israel 'whatever the cost'

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he is prepared to suffer any political backlash that comes his way for speaking out against anti-Israel rhetoric.

Harper told an audience that while Israel is receptive to fair criticism, Canada is obligated to stand up for its ally when it comes under attack from others.

"Not just because it is the right thing to do, but because history shows us, and the ideology of the anti-Israel mob tell us all too well, that those who threaten the existence of the Jewish people are in the longer term a threat to all of us."

The prime minister acknowledged that his position is not popular with all governments and organizations, including members of the United Nations and the Francophonie.

"And I know, by the way, because I have the bruises to show for it, that whether it is at the United Nations or any other international forum, the easiest thing to do is simply to just get along and go along with this anti-Israel rhetoric, to pretend it is just about being even-handed, and to excuse oneself with the label of honest broker.

"There are, after all, a lot more votes—a lot more—in being anti-Israeli than in taking a stand. But as long as I am prime minister, whether it is at the United Nations, the Francophonie or anywhere else, Canada will take that stand, whatever the cost."

Harper made his remarks at the start of a two-day conference on anti-Semitism that is being held on Parliament Hill during Holocaust Education Week.

Anti-Semitic Defamatory League Rips Beck for 'Horrific' Assault on George Soros

ADL Leader Praises Beck’s Support of Israel — Last Month

The Anti-Defamation League is blasting Glenn Beck for accusing liberal philanthropist George Soros, who is Jewish, of helping Nazis send Jews to their death. Soros at the age of 14 "used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off," said Beck this week. "Here’s a Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps." He also called Soros "an atheist who doesn't embrace his Jewish identity." Beck referred to himself as "more supportive of Israel and the Jews than George Soros is.” Soros has discussed once accompanying a Hungarian official posing as his godfather as the man inventoried a house abandoned by fleeing Jews.

"For a commentator to have the audacity to say—inaccurately—that there’s a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that’s horrific," said an ADL director Abraham Foxman. Beck "gratuitously slandered a prominent Jewish philanthropist in probably the worst way that you can slander a Holocaust survivor," noted Mark Paredes in the Jewish Journal. Beck has long portrayed Soros as the lynchpin at the center of a vast leftist conspiracy to change the world, notes the New York Times. He attacked the philanthropist in a two-part TV and radio program entitled "The Puppet Master."

Glenn Beck draws criticism over latest Holocaust comments

Interpol hunts Israeli organ traffickers

Interpol has issued arrest warrants for two Israelis involved in human organ trafficking through the Medicus Polyclinic in Kosovo's capital, Pristina.

The indictment is the starkest revelation of the extent of organized crime in the country since it declared independence in 2008.

EU prosecutors have also accused at least seven people of trafficking kidneys through a clinic in Kosovo.

A former senior Kosovo Health Ministry official and a number of doctors were reportedly involved. Prosecutors say the network promised poor people payment for their kidneys.

The victims were promised up to 14,500 euros (about $20,000), while the traffickers then sold the organs for as much as 100,000 euros (USD 137,000) each, according to an indictment obtained by the Associated Press on Thursday.

The organized criminal group trafficked people from Moldova, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkey into Kosovo for the purpose of removing human organs for transplant.

Kristiina Herodes, the Justice spokeswoman for the EU Rule of Law Mission, said that the accused have been charged with "organ trafficking, organized crime and abusing official position."

"At the moment we could say that the so-called donors in that case, and also the person who received the organs are of different nationalities," she added.

Some 20 foreign nationals were enticed with false promises of payments in 2008, she explained.

None of the suspects are in custody.

Names and other details of the case are to be made public at the end of this month.

The Anti-Semitic Side of Zionism

By Gilad Atzmon

If you are interested in Jewish political power and Zionist morbidity you must find the time to watch the first forty minutes of this incredible Israeli documentary. The film outlines what early Zionists thought of their Diaspora Jewish brothers, Jewish wealth, Jewish war mongering and Jewish power.

http://video.google.com

I do not know much at all about the people behind this film, except that they belong to the Israeli Ultra Orthodox sector. The film is there to expose the inherent anti Jewish discrimination within the Zionist discourse.

It is there to prove that Zionism is deeply anti- Semitic. The film is well made and very well researched, and the shocking quotes it outlines are all genuine.

In case you fail to realise the role of Jewish wealth, the impact of AIPAC, Lord Cash point Levy, the Conservative Friends of Israel, and other relentless Jewish lobbies, Benjamin Ze’ev Herzl (the founder of modern political Zionism) doesn’t seem to mince his words.

Just five minutes into the documentary, Herzl is quoted as saying: “The wealthy Jews control the world…In their hands lies the fate of government and nations” (4:59)

But it isn’t just money the founder of Zionism is concerned with: Herzl was also very unhappy with what he saw as the role of Jews in setting off wars and world conflicts. Needless to say of course, Herzl couldn’t know about what else was to come, decades later -- He didn’t know about Neo-conservatism; he didn’t know about Paul Wolfowitz and Scooter Libby setting the USA’s doctrine of moral interventionism; Herzl couldn't know that it would be the Labour Friends of Israel who would contribute funds to the Labour Government in 2003; and Herzl couldn’t foresee that people like Jewish Chronicle writers David Aaronivitch and Nick Cohen would rally within the British press for further aggression in the Middle East, namely, the Iraq War.

But somehow Herzl was observant enough to suggest that “They (the Jews) set governments one against the other and by their decree governments make peace” (5:07)

Herzl indeed, appeared to despise Jewish Power. “When the wealthy Jews play, the nations and the rulers dance”, he wrote with contempt.

Pre Zionist writings by Herzl suggest that the promising Viennese Journalist was convinced that Anti-Semitism was actually good for the Jews : He thought that it would mount pressure that would lead Jews eventually to “adapt” and transform into Goyim by means of conversion (5:49).

Later, when Herzl, changed his mind, and decided that Zionism was the ‘way forward’, he still thought that anti Semitism was a good thing, since it could only push Jews more urgently towards establishing the future Jewish State.

And it seems that Zionism still benefits from anti Semitism. Apparently, Herzl’s paradigm is still in place.

Bravely, the film elaborates on the similarities between Herzl and Hitler. It is rather clear that -- at least ideologically -- the two political thinkers shared a deep aversion towards Jews.

Zionism was there to erect a ‘new Jew’: It promised to transform the Jews into “civilized people”. The documentary exposes the level of loathing early Zionists felt towards their Diaspora brothers.

In 1919, the Zionist socialist, Josef Haim Brenner, insisted that “Jewish national character has been at fault since time immemorial. We (Jews) have never been a creative people. We’ve always lived lives of gypsies and dogs.” Brenner continues, “what do you expect from the anti Semites?” (25:10). To a certain extent they were right to hate us all. “The Jews,” says Zionist Brenner, “are Gypsies, contagion, slop and decay, a rotten egg.. We are remotely humane… scum of mankind”

David Ben Gurion, the first Israeli Prime Minister, and probably the ultimate Zionist pragmatist, agreed that “transforming humanoid raw material (the Diaspora Jews) into a cultural nation is not an easy task.”

The Israeli documentary discloses the Zionists’ conscious dismissal of European Jews’ tragedy during The Second World War --In 1943, as European Jews suffered the ultimate form of oppression, Itzhak Greenbaum (the Zionist leader in charge of the rescue efforts) wrote, “when they ask me, can you not use funds to rescue Jews in the Diaspora? I said No and I repeat No! “

Greenbaum then insists that the struggle for Zionist redemption is more important than any efforts to save Diaspora Jews. (31:00)

In 1937 Chaim Weizmann, the leader of the Zionist Organisation and later the first Israeli President, declared “The hope of six million[1] Jews is focused on rising up from the depth of tragedy. I wish to save two million youth. The elderly will perish and await their final destiny. They are, economically and ethically –sub human-in cruel world.” (32:18)

David ben Gurion repeated more or less the same line of thought: “If I should be able to save all the children of Germany via transport to England, and merely half of them via transport to Israel, I will choose the latter”

The film goes on to review the Zionists’ total betrayal of, and failure to assist European Jews at the time of World War Two.

It also exposes the total political and legal abuse of Yemenite, Arab Jews and the Orthodox community in Israel.

It is important also to note that -- as much as this film protests against anti Jewish discrimination in Israel -- it hardly mentions the Palestinians or their plight. It totally neglects the crimes committed day by day against the Palestinian people.

As one expects -- universal ethics hardly comes into play in Hebrew; not even in a film about Zionist discrimination and human rights abuse.
