Director of B'nai Brith facing child-porn charges

Bill Surkis, a prominent member of Montreal's Jewish community, was led to court in handcuffs Friday to face two charges related to accessing and possessing child pornography.

Surkis, 69, is the former Quebec Regional Director of B'nai Brith Canada, a Jewish advocacy group. He also worked in the education sector for 47 years, serving as academic dean at John Abbott College for more than two decades.

He was released on bail, on a number of conditions that restrict his access to children and the Internet.

Virus check on computer revealed pornographic material

The child pornography was allegedly discovered after Surkis took his computer to a store to be checked out for viruses.

"It was the people at the computer store who noticed these images on his computer," said CTV Montreal's Rob Lurie, reporting live from the Montreal courthouse.

"We're talking about 23 videos, allegedly of child pornography, found on the hard drive of his computer," Lurie added.

The employees at the computer notified police of the suspicious material.

Surkis turned himself in on Thursday, and spent the night in jail.

Reaction

Surkis spoke briefly to reporters Friday afternoon before leaving the Montreal courthouse.

"They're serious charges. We're looking into them. My lawyer's working with me. We're coming back to court on September 24th and we'll proceed from there."

Surkis said members of the Jewish community will be disappointed by the news of the charges against him, but said he remains hopeful that he will maintain his reputation.

"They know me as a staunch individual, they know that I've stood for what is right. I continue to stand for what is right. That's why we're doing the things that we're doing so that we can clear my name."

When Surkis was asked how the pornographic material ended up on his hard drive, his lawyer, Steven Slimovitch, intervened.

"Look, I think that's something that we can discuss when the time comes...it's not a question of denying...it's a question of looking at what is it we're talking about, looking at everything, and dealing with everything," said Slimovitch.

"We're not hiding. We voluntarily went to the police station yesterday. We are fully cooperating with the police. We've accepted the conditions that the crown prosecution has put (in place) and we're taking the matter very, very seriously," he added.

Jewish groups don't endorse US Supreme Court nominees, at least in writing.

The tears and choked sobs when Sonia Sotomayor accepted President Obama's nomination on Tuesday told another story.

Packed into the room along with Sotomayor's family, friends and colleagues were representatives of Jewish groups that have consulted with the White House about prospective replacements for David Souter.

The story of her life - the daughter of a Puerto Rican single mother from the Bronx, NY, whose ambitions knew no bounds - resounded with a community that has made the story of immigrant triumph over struggle a template of Jewish American success.

"It was impossible not to moved by her personal story," said Mark Pelavin, the associate director of the Reform movement's Religious Action Center. "To see her mother sitting there and think about what this says about her and her country - the combination of someone who grew up in a housing project, who has been on the bench for a long time, but who has been a prosecutor as well, that combination is very powerful."

"It was thrilling," said Sammie Moshenberg, the Washington director of the National Council of Jewish Women.

It doesn't hurt that Sotomayor, 54, is a poster child for strong Jewish-Hispanic relations. In 1986, when she was in private legal practice, she joined one of the first young leadership tours of Israel sponsored by Project Interchange, which is affiliated with the American Jewish Committee.

Sotomayor so enjoyed the country - its immigrant culture, its popular music influenced heavily by Jewish immigrants from Argentina and Brazil - that she made a return visit in 1996 when she was a federal judge, and recently joined a Project Interchange US-Israel forum on immigration. In the process, she formed a lifelong friendship with Project Interchange founder Debbie Berger and her husband, Paul, who attended her swearing-in as a Manhattan appeals court judge in 1998.

"She enjoyed Israel not just from an intellectual perspective, she liked the music and the people," Paul Berger told JTA.

Richard Foltin, the legislative director for the AJC, said her background naturally played a role in how the Jewish community would welcome her.

"We must recognize the significance of the third woman and first Hispanic on the court," he said. "And there's no question of her impressive qualifications."

Sotomayor would come to the Supreme Court with one of the longest bench careers in its history, having handed down or joined 3,000 decisions in 18 years as a federal and appeals court judge. That's a lot to read through and accounted for a degree of hesitancy from Jewish groups that were enthused about her life story but just getting to know her judicial record.

"I've got a bunch of opinions in my briefcase and it's time to start reading," Pelavin said.

The National Council of Jewish Women -- one of the few Jewish groups that expresses an opinion on judicial candidates -- has yet to announce where it stands. Whatever the case, said Nancy Ratzan, the NCJW's president, the organization would dedicate itself to ensuring that Sotomayor receives a fair hearing.

"Our 90,000 followers will be focused on making sure it's a fair and prompt process that focuses on her record," she said.

NCJW and the Religious Action Center will canvass members for appropriate questions for Sotomayor during the confirmation process; the questions will be relayed to the US Senate Judicary Committee.

Leaders of the Anti-Defamation League issued a statement calling for a process that is conducted "professionally, and with civility and respect," and praised the pick while stopping short of an official endorsement.

"We applaud President Obama for having selected this noted jurist to be the Court's first Hispanic and third woman Justice," the ADL leaders stated. "If confirmed, she will undoubtedly bring an important new perspective to the work of the Court."

Even the Orthodox Union, which tends to stake our more conservative ground than other Jewish organizations on church-state issues, spoke positively about Sotomayor, citing several religious freedom-related cases.

In a 1993 case, she upheld the constitutional right of a rabbi in White Plains, NY, to display a menorah in a city park. In two other cases, in 1994 and 2003, Sotomayor upheld prisoners' religious rights even though the practices in question did not conform with mainstream beliefs. And in 2006, she ruled that allowing federal age discrimination statutes to apply to a 70-year-old minister dismissed by the Methodist church would constitute unwarranted government interference in church affairs.

Those decisions, OU said, were "very encouranging."

Marc Stern, the legal counsel for the American Jewish Congress, predicted that Sotomayor's long bench experience ultimately will be a plus. More time on the bench shaping reasoned opinions made her less of a target than other nominees - like Lani Gunier, Robert Bork and Samuel Alito - whose years pushing intellectual boundaries in the halls of academe handed fodder to opponents seeking controversial statements.

Additionally, the 2nd Circuit of Appeals - based in Manhattan and covering New York, Connecticut and Vermont - deals with cases emerging from courts and legislatures that already trend liberal. That means it is less likely to address issues such as abortion and discrimination that often exercise Jewish groups.

"There's no track record that anyone can point to," Stern said, referring to such hot-button issues. "There's not likely going to be a whole lot there as a smoking gun."

Israel lobby commits major blunder in France: tries to silence a comedian

Amazing stuff is happening in France. It all began with a relatively well-known French-Cameroonian comedian, Dieudonné M'bala M'bala was invited to participate on a TV show on the channel France 3. The show also featured a Maghrebian artist and Dieudonne decided to impersonate an extremist Israeli settled infuriated by the presence of an Arab on a French show (for those of you who understand French, you can see an excerpt of his appearance that day here).

Dieudonne who, in the past, had always enjoyed ridiculing pretty much every segment of French society clearly had never expected the hysterical uproar that his humor would trigger that day: the huge constellation of French Zionists organizations lead by the notorious CRIF ("Representative Committee of Jewish organization in France" - the French version of AIPAC) immediately attacked Dieudonne, suing him for racists comments and suing him for "anti-Semitism" (a criminal offense in France). This was hardly the first time that the French Zionist mob had decided to crush an outspoken critic of its role in French politics or its unconditional support for the last racist state on the planet: Israel. But this time, the Ziomob miscalculated, badly.

Pro-Israel Mouthpiece Says Freedom of Speech Dangerous

‘JINSA’ article says outlets who oppose future wars should be silenced—killed if necessary—by military strike

ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL voices of the pro-Israel lobby has published a shocking essay suggesting that, in the future, there should be “military attacks” on journalists and media outlets that oppose American military ventures on behalf of Israel.

In the spring 2008 issue of its Journal of International Security Affairs, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), a particularly vocal force of the Jewish lobby, published a series of articles devoted to the subject: “The U.S. Military Faces the Future.”

One article, entitled “Wishful Thinking and Indecisive Wars,” written by Ralph Peters (described as “a retired U.S. Army officer”) states flatly that “Although it seems unthinkable now, future wars may require censorship, news blackouts and, ultimately, military attacks on the partisan media.”

The JINSA essay says “Freedom of the press stops when its abuse kills our soldiers and strengthens our enemies. Such a view arouses disdain today, but a media establishment that has forgotten any sense of sober patriotism may find that it has become tomorrow’s conventional wisdom.”

JINSA’s suggestion that the media in America opposed the U.S. invasion of Iraq—a key demand by Israel and JINSA—flies in contrast to the truth. In fact, the major media banged the drum for war. AMERICAN FREE PRESS and a few independent newspapers strongly opposed this needless war.

So what JINSA is saying is that those independent media voices—such as AMERICAN FREE PRESS—that opposed the drive for war should ultimately face military violence if they oppose the Jewish lobby’s future military aims.

One analyst, University of Pennsylvania Prof. Edward Herman, has described JINSA as “organized and [run] by individuals closely tied to the Israeli lobby and can be regarded as a virtual agency of the Israeli government.”

JINSA was founded in the mid-1980s by Stephen Bryen. He, along with several of his close associates—including future George W. Bush administration officials Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith—was investigated by the FBI on charges of spying for Israel at various times. JINSA has worked to forge alliances between the Jewish lobby and former American military officials, treating them to international junkets and a variety of business and other financial bonanzas provided by Israeli sympathizers in America and around the globe in return for support for their blatantly pro-Israel policies.

Peters—whose pro-Israel articles are published regularly in The New York Post, owned by pro-Zionist billionaire Rupert Murdoch—is just one of those whose views on the military appeared in JINSA’s journal.

A recurring theme in the essays emphasized the need for the United States to coordinate its international ventures with its “allies,” that is, Israel. The essays underscore the idea that it is vital for the United States to engage in covert action to bring down regimes that stand in the way of Israel’s agenda. Written in “code,” so to speak, the essays carry the theme that Israel’s interests are those of America and vice-versa and that those who oppose Israel are “anti-American,” and that includes American military officers.

An essay by one Patrick Poole alleges that the distinguished Strategic Studies Institute at the U.S. Army War College is in the state of “strategic collapse” because it published a study saying that Hamas, the Palestinian faction, has been misunderstood due to misreporting by what the War College report says are “Israeli and Western sources that villainize the group.”

JINSA’s propagandist claims the War College “is only representative of a larger rot in the U.S. military’s halls of higher learning . . . [that] apparently runs through all levels of our military senior service schools. . . .”

The author of these attacks on American military leaders who refuse to pander to the Jewish lobby, Patrick Poole, is a ubiquitous Internet presence, writing pro-Israel screeds for Frontpagemag.com, the website of ex-communist-turned-neoconservative pro-Israel publicist David Horowitz.

The record shows that increasing numbers of American military figures, and a host of ex-diplomats, intelligence officers and others are publicly challenging the Jewish lobby. They include Adm. “Fox” Fallon, former ambassadors Charles Freeman and Richard Peck, ex-CIA officers Michael Scheuer and Ray McGovern as well as top academics such as Dr. John Mearsheimer and Dr. Stephen Walt. And former President Jimmy Carter as well.

It is thus no surprise that influential Jewish voices, such as Forward, published in Manhattan, complain there is opposition to Israel within higher circles, a point that surprises many Americans who believe Israel has a firm stranglehold on the American intelligence, diplomatic and law enforcement apparatus.

On May 11, 2005, Forward reported that Barry Jacobs of the Washington office of the American Jewish Committee said there were high-ranking officials in the U.S. intelligence community who were hostile to Israel and unreceptive to pro-Israel lobbyists.

Citing the then-ongoing FBI investigation of espionage by officials of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Forward noted that this top Jewish leader believed, in Forward’s summary, that “the notion that American Jews and Pentagon neo-conservatives conspired to push the United States into war against Iraq, and possibly also against Iran, is pervasive in Washington’s intelligence community.”

Although the Justice Department recently dropped its case against the AIPAC duo, the FBI investigators remained confident that their criminal case against the intriguers would have resulted in a conviction.

It has been a long-standing concern of JINSA that many in the military are tired of fighting wars for Israel. In the fall of 2006, JINSA’s journal suggested that a full-fledged witch-hunt was in order, designed to root out critics of Israel at high levels, implying that Israel’s critics were allied to “jihadist” fundamentalist Muslims. JINSA asked:

How deeply have jihadist elements infiltrated the U.S. government and federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and various military commands, either through sympathizers or via actual operatives?

Since there are few Muslims in the FBI, Homeland Security, the Department of Defense etc, the suggestion that “jihadist” elements have “infiltrated” our government might seem silly to the average American. But JINSA—determined to enforce Israel’s demands on American foreign policy and military might—is concerned that there are growing numbers in the military, the FBI and the CIA who are opposed to wars for Israel—and this, in JINSA’s view, constitutes collaboration with the dreaded “jihadists.”

CBS Glorifies Mossad

Some kids read biographies about baseball players. In high school my favorite books were about the great accomplishments of the Mossad, Israel's intelligence service.

They had kidnapped war criminal Adolf Eichmann from Argentina before the police in the country knew he was there or even missing. A beautiful woman had inspired an Iraqi pilot to defect to Israel with his top-secret Mig-21. A Mossad mole nearly became Syria's Minister of Defense. And in a story popularized by Steven Spielberg's movie Munich, the Mossad quietly and systematically killed those responsible for the murder of their athletes at the Munich Olympics.

The man responsible for directing much of these accomplishments was the legendary Mossad chief Zvika Zamir, who I met and spoke with on several occasions in Israel. He was one of only three people who Egyptian spy Ashraf Marwan met with during his four years of spying for the Israelis. He didn't want to go on camera - Mossad agents are adverse to publicity - but Zamir wanted me to know how convinced he was about Marwan not being a double agent.

A former head of Israeli Military Intelligence revealed in the Israeli press a few years ago that Marwan was responsible for misleading Israel during the run-up to the 1973 Yom Kippur War; Zamir believed that the former military intel chief was just covering up for his own failings to predict the war.

Zamir is now in his late eighties but still quite sharp. He said that Marwan enjoyed fine cigars and good clothes and the company of beautiful women.

Zamir said he would often test Marwan. One time he asked Marwan to name the commanding officer of individual Egyptian military units, names Zamir had already known from another inside spy. Marwan, he said, never lied to him.

Zamir says the day before the war began, he met with Marwan in London where Marwan not only told him the war would begin but also gave him the war plans, which included specific points of where parachute landings would occur.

Amazingly, the Israel Army chief of staff didn't look at it until the fighting was well under way.

When Ashraf Marwan was found dead, Zamir said he blamed himself because he felt he didn't do enough to protect his identity. He also says Marwan's death will have long range repercussions for the Israelis in trying to recruit other Arab defectors.

Two days after my last Zamir meeting, I was directed, one afternoon, to go to a particular park bench in Ramat Gan, a Tel Aviv suburb. I felt like I was in a spy movie, as an old Jewish man who looked a little like the Jewish gangster Meyer Lansky, sat down next to me and said simply, "I hear you have some questions about Marwan."

It turned out "Shmuel" as we will call him, was the former head of European operations for over 30 years for the Mossad. It was Shmuel who was first contacted by Marwan in 1969, and hurriedly arranged a meeting at a London restaurant.

He directed one of Israel's legendary agents to meet Marwan that day, an agent simply called "Dubi." If Israel had a James Bond, it was Dubi.

Everyone from the Mossad avoids discussing details about Dubi, in part to protect him and in part to keep his accomplishments part of the secrets held by a small fraternity of Mossad agents.

For one extraordinary afternoon I was a kid again, hearing stories about the Mossad, from one of its most important figures. They are a very proud organization which might explain why they will never publicly acknowledge that Marwan might have gotten the better of them.

As a last question I asked how the relationship between Israel and Marwan ended, my new friend told me that it was the Israelis that ended it: "We had a peace with Arabs and he wasn't worth paying $100,000 for each meeting. What do you think he would give us, the Egyptian wheat reports?"

Moses was high on drugs: Israeli researcher

High on Mount Sinai, Moses was on psychedelic drugs when he heard God deliver the Ten Commandments, an Israeli researcher claimed in a study published this week.

Such mind-altering substances formed an integral part of the religious rites of Israelites in biblical times, Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wrote in the Time and Mind journal of philosophy.

“As far Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a supernatural cosmic event, which I don’t believe, or a legend, which I don’t believe either, or finally, and this is very probable, an event that joined Moses and the people of Israel under the effect of narcotics,” Shanon told Israeli public radio on Tuesday.

Moses was probably also on drugs when he saw the “burning bush,” suggested Shanon, who said he himself has dabbled with such substances.

“The Bible says people see sounds, and that is a classic phenomenon,” he said citing the example of religious ceremonies in the Amazon in which drugs are used that induce people to “see music.”

He mentioned his own experience when he used ayahuasca, a powerful psychotropic plant, during a religious ceremony in Brazil’s Amazon forest in 1991. “I experienced visions that had spiritual-religious connotations,” Shanon said.

He said the psychedelic effects of ayahuasca were comparable to those produced by concoctions based on bark of the acacia tree, that is frequently mentioned in the Bible. - Sapa-AFP.

Obama declares May 'Jewish American Heritage Month'

U.S. president says Jewish American history 'demonstrates how America's diversity enriches us all.'

U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday declared May Jewish American Heritage Month, saying that the "United States would not be the country we know without the achievements of Jewish Americans."

Obama called on all Americans to "commemorate the proud heritage of Jewish Americans with appropriate ceremonies and activities."

"Unyielding in the face of hardship and tenacious in following their dreams, Jewish Americans have surmounted the challenges that every immigrant group faces, and have made unparalleled contributions," Obama said.

He added, "Jewish American leaders have been essential to all branches and levels of government. Still more Jewish Americans have made selfless sacrifices in our Armed Forces."

Obama said that Jewish American community has set an example for all Americans. "They have demonstrated that Americans can choose to maintain cultural traditions while honoring the principles and beliefs that bind them together as American," said Obama. "Jewish American history demonstrates how America's diversity enriches and strengthens us all."

U.S. GOVERNMENT, TALMUD MOCK NEW TESTAMENT

The U.S. State Dept.’s Office of Global Anti-Semitism now says the New Testament is a book of conspiracy theory! Yes, our government now rules that the Biblical record that Jews had Christ crucified is not only anti-Semitic; it’s conspiracy junk. This step toward criminalization of Christian beliefs directly threatens believers. It is also an act of blatant hypocrisy: While the New Testament is derided as “hate speech,” not a word is said about the seething hatred contained in Judaism's most sacred book, the Talmud.

The State Department reports, "The tactics of many anti-Semitic groups include the propagation of conspiracy theories… Traditional conspiracy theories…" include the belief "…that the Jews are responsible for the death of Christ." ¹ For tens of millions, the New Testament is anything but conspiracy theory! It’s the written Word of God.

But now our State Department says the New Testament account of Christ’s passion, culminating in rejection by the Jewish people and crucifixion by the Romans, is akin to the other conspiracy theories that inspired Hitler to attempt to destroy Jews. My previous article, “Bible is Hate, Says U.S. Government,” documents the State Department's other charge: that the New Testament espouses "classic anti-Semitism." ²

Hitler is rightly considered a classic anti-Semite. But the State Department, in also labelling the New Testament "classic anti-Semitism," suggests it is morally and intellectually similar to Nazism. This implies the New Testament could lead to yet another Holocaust! This premise, legislated into “anti-hate” laws, will justify persecution of Bible-believers as “anti-Semites.” After all, it will be reasoned, people with hateful ideologies, leading to violence against Jews should be restricted, even imprisoned.

Talmud Tells Us Who Killed Christ

Abraham H. Foxman, head of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League, couldn't agree more with the State Department. His organization is the prime mover behind hate laws worldwide and the Office of Global Anti-Semitism. Foxman asserts that Jews of Jesus’ time were innocent of the crucifixion; it was entirely the work of Romans. Foxman says New Testament writers concocted the vicious anti-Semitic lie that Jewish leaders and people goaded Pilate to condemn Christ. He says this falsehood — that Jews are "Christ killers"—fanned into flame nearly two millennia of anti-Semitism and led to the Holocaust. He also says it creates "new anti-Semitism" which he warns is rapidly escalating worldwide. ³ ADL's “anti-hate” laws have already been used in dozens of western nations to infringe on the freedom of Christians.

Foxman, as an Orthodox Jew, knows plenty about another book whose vitriol is far darker than that of the Bible. The highest religious and ethical authority of modern Judaism, the Babylonian Talmud, states that Jewish leaders did have Christ condemned to death. In fact, the Talmud says they did it entirely without the Romans’ help! Jewish authorities killed Christ not by crucifixion (illegal in Jewish law) but by the legal methods prescribed by Talmudic law.

The Talmud says:

On Passover Eve, they hanged Jesus of Nazareth. And the herald went before him forty days, and proclaimed ‘Jesus of Nazareth is going out to be stoned because he practiced sorcery, incited and led Israel astray. Whoever knows of an argument that may be proposed in his favor should come present that argument on his behalf.’ But the judges did not find an argument in his favor, and so they hanged him on Passover Eve. ⁴

The Talmud describes torture inflicted on Jesus before His death. “All four legal methods of execution – stoning, burning, decapitation and strangling were employed”. ⁵ The Talmud elaborates on “burning.” It involved Jesus being:

“lowered in dung up to his armpits, then a hard cloth was placed within a soft one, wound around his neck and the two ends pulled in opposite directions until he was dead, forcing him to open his mouth. A wick was then lit, and thrown into his mouth, so that it descended into his body, burning his bowels.” ⁶

Jesus, says the Talmud, was excommunicated for the thought of seducing a woman. In His ensuing grief and confusion, He fell down and worshipped a brick. ⁷ The Talmud says Jesus “…was a fool and we do not pay attention to what fools do.” ⁸ According to the Talmud, Jesus is now in hell, writhing in eternal agony. The Talmud asks: “‘What is your punishment?’ He replied, ‘With boiling hot semen…’” ⁹

The Talmud defends the Jewish rulers who it says righteously executed four of Christ’s disciples: Matthew, Luke, Nicodemus, and Thaddaeus. ¹⁰ It considers His followers to be worshippers of a false prophet and worthy of death. References in the Talmud to Christ and Christians are often veiled by terms not understood by Christian censors in previous centuries. Two of the most common are “Minim” and “Minith.” The footnote to the Talmud in Abodah Zarah 16b (pg. 84) says that “Minith” refers to “…heresy with special reference to Christianity.”

Brotherly love did not extend to the Minim: Christians may be legally thrown into a pit to die. As Abodah Zarah 26b says: “…‘idolaters and [Jewish] Shepherds of small cattle need not be brought up, though they must not be cast in, but Minim, informers, and apostates may be cast in and need not be brought up.’” In Shabbethai 116, Rabbi Tarbon says, “The writings of the Minim [New Testament] deserve to be burned, even though the holy name of God occurs therein, for paganism is less dangerous than Minith [Christianity]…”

According to the Talmud "…Those who deny the Torah and the prophets of Israel [giving loyalty to the "false prophet" Jesus and the New Testament], the law is that they should be killed and those who have the power of life and death should have them killed. And if this cannot be done, they should be led to their death by deceptive methods. ¹¹

Christians: Keep Out!

Concerning Gentile Christians who presume to make use of the Jewish Sabbath, The Jewish Encyclopedia tells us, “Resh Lakish…said, ‘A Gentile observing the Sabbath deserves death’ (Sanh. 58b)." This article says, “The Sabbath is a sign between God and Israel alone…” and the Talmud's death sentence "was probably directed against the Christian Jews…” ¹² Sanh. 59a says, “A heathen who studies the Torah [Old Testament] deserves death, for it is written, Moses commanded us a law for an inheritance; it is our inheritance not theirs.”

Christianity is vividly described in the Talmud as worse than even the most wicked behavior of a Jew. A.Z. 17a says: “Rabbi Eleazar B. Dordia did not leave out any harlot in the world without coming to her…" yet attained forgiveness because he had not committed the unforgivable sin of accepting Christianity. Likewise, incest is a “light sin” compared to faith in Jesus. The Talmud tells us “Minuth,” along with the Roman government, are the two daughters of hell. One seduces Jews to idolatry; the other keeps them politically bound.

Does the Talmud teach the same “tolerance” and “respect for diversity” which Foxman demands from Christians toward Jews, homosexuals, abortionists, and pornographers? Listen to how the Talmud instructs Jews to respond to the death of a Jew who has become a Christian:

At the death of one who had severed all ties with his people no rites whatever should be observed. His brothers and relatives should dress in white and cloak themselves in white. They should eat, drink and be merry, for an enemy of God has perished. As it is written, ‘Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate Thee? And do not I strive with those that rise up against Thee? I hate them with utmost hatred; I count them my enemies.’ (Psalms 139:21-4)” ¹³

Is this “hate?” Absolutely!

It's hard to imagine greater hate than what the Talmud teaches against Christ and Christians. Jewish “civil liberties” groups such as ADL, ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, and People for the American Way set themselves up as lawgivers to the world. They propose to end “hate, intolerance, prejudice, and bias.” Yet, the greatest religious and ethical authority for modern observant Judaism, the Talmud (which far exceeds the authority of the Old Testament for religious Jews) ¹⁴, cannot be surpassed in its hate, intolerance, prejudice, and bias against Christians. Chief among Jewish ethical pontificators is Abe Foxman, a devout Orthodox, Talmud-quoting Jew, who says he earnestly awaits the coming of Israel ’s “messiah.” This, of course, is not Jesus but Antichrist. ¹⁵

“Christophobia”

With this in mind we can understand why Jewish activist groups exhibit such a loathing of Jesus and His name in public schools, government and the military and why they tirelessly labor to remove all symbols having to do with Him, especially at Christmas and Easter.

Jewish activists accuse evangelicals of “homophobia,” preaching hate against homosexuals. Actually, out of love, Christians warn sodomites that, unless they repent, their sexual perversion will land them in hell forever. In contrast, Jewish activists are consummate “Christophobes,” opposing Christ and His followers -- not out of love but from a morbid obsession to remove all memory of what their forefathers did, screaming, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him! His blood be upon us and our children!”

Like Lady Macbeth, who washed her murderous hands incessantly, muttering, “Out, out, damned spot!” the descendants of those who had Christ killed attempt to wash away their guilt with lies.

There’s only One, however, who can wash away anyone’s sins. Scripture repeatedly promises He will come again and “…they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn…” ¹⁶ He who makes the vilest sinners clean will put “a heart of flesh” in Israel , wherein now resides “a heart of stone” against Him. At last God will remove the obsession to defame Him out of Israel .

The saga of Christ’s dealings with the Jews is thus one of radical extremes: vitriolic hate, as Talmudic Jewry strives to prevent His appearance, and astonishing love, as Christ eventually proves His power to save a whole nation of repentant Jews.

Someday all the earth will gasp in amazement saying, “Who is a God like unto Thee, that pardoneth iniquity and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?” ¹⁷

Criminalizing Criticism Of Israel

On October 16, 2004, President George W. Bush signed the Israel Lobby's bill, the Global Anti-Semitism Review Act. This legislation requires the US Department of State to monitor anti-semitism world wide.

To monitor anti-semitism, it has to be defined. What is the definition? Basically, as defined by the Israel Lobby and Abe Foxman, it boils down to any criticism of Israel or Jews.

Rahm Israel Emanuel hasn't been mopping floors at the White House.
As soon as he gets the Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 passed, it will become a crime for any American to tell the truth about Israel's treatment of Palestinians and theft of their lands.

It will be a crime for Christians to acknowledge the New Testament's account of Jews demanding the crucifixion of Jesus.

It will be a crime to report the extraordinary influence of the Israel Lobby on the White House and Congress, such as the AIPAC-written resolutions praising Israel for its war crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza that were endorsed by 100 per cent of the US Senate and 99 per cent of the House of Representatives, while the rest of the world condemned Israel for its barbarity.

It will be a crime to doubt the Holocaust.

It will become a crime to note the disproportionate representation of Jews in the media, finance, and foreign policy.

In other words, it means the end of free speech, free inquiry, and the First Amendment to the Constitution. Any facts or truths that cast aspersion upon Israel will simply be banned.

Given the hubris of the US government, which leads Washington to apply US law to every country and organization, what will happen to the International Red Cross, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, and the various human rights organizations that have demanded investigations of Israel's military assault on Gaza's civilian population? Will they all be arrested for the hate crime of "excessive" criticism of Israel?

This is a serious question.

A recent UN report, which is yet to be released in its entirety, blames Israel for the deaths and injuries that occurred within the United Nations premises in Gaza. The Israeli government has responded by charging that the UN report is "tendentious, patently biased," which puts the UN report into the State Department's category of excessive criticism and strong anti-Israel sentiment.

Israel is getting away with its blatant use of the American government to silence its critics despite the fact that the Israeli press and Israeli soldiers have exposed the Israeli atrocities in Gaza and the premeditated murder of women and children urged upon the Israeli invaders by rabbis. These acts are clearly war crimes.

It was the Israeli press that published the pictures of the Israeli soldiers' T-shirts that indicate that the willful murder of women and children is now the culture of the Israeli army. The T-shirts are horrific expressions of barbarity. For example, one shows a pregnant Palestinian woman with a crosshairs over her stomach and the slogan, "One shot, two kills." These T-shirts are an indication that Israel's policy toward the Palestinians is one of extermination.

It has been true for years that the most potent criticism of Israel's mistreatment of the Palestinians comes from the Israeli press and Israeli peace groups. For example, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and Jeff Halper of ICAHD have shown a moral conscience that apparently does not exist in the Western democracies where Israel's crimes are covered up and even praised.

Will the American hate crime bill be applied to Haaretz and Jeff Halper? Will American commentators who say nothing themselves but simply report what Haaretz and Halper have said be arrested for "spreading hatred of Israel, an anti-semitic act"?

Many Americans have been brainwashed by the propaganda that Palestinians are terrorists who threaten innocent Israel. These Americans will see the censorship as merely part of the necessary war on terror. They will accept the demonization of fellow citizens who report unpalatable facts about Israel and agree that such people should be punished for aiding and abetting terrorists.

A massive push is underway to criminalize criticism of Israel. American university professors have fallen victim to the well organized attempt to eliminate all criticism of Israel. Norman Finkelstein was denied tenure at a Catholic university because of the power of the Israel Lobby. Now the Israel Lobby is after University of California (at Santa Barbara,) professor Wiliam Robinson. Robinson's crime: his course on global affairs included some reading assignments critical of Israel's invasion of Gaza.

The Israel Lobby apparently succeeded in convincing the Obama Justice (sic) Department that it is anti-semitic to accuse two Jewish AIPAC officials, Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman, of spying. The Israel Lobby succeeded in getting their trial delayed for four years, and now Attorney General Eric Holder has dropped charges. Yet, Larry Franklin, the DOD official accused of giving secret material to Rosen and Weissman, is serving 12 years and 7 months in prison.

The absurdity is extraordinary. The two Israeli agents are not guilty of receiving secrets, but the American official is guilty of giving secrets to them! If there is no spy in the story, how was Franklin convicted of giving secrets to a spy?

Criminalizing criticism of Israel destroys any hope of America having an independent foreign policy in the Middle East that serves American rather than Israeli interests. It eliminates any prospect of Americans escaping from their enculturation with Israeli propaganda.

To keep American minds captive, the Lobby is working to ban as anti-semitic any truth or disagreeable fact that pertains to Israel. It is permissible to criticize every other country in the world, but it is anti-semitic to criticize Israel, and anti-semitism will soon be a universal hate-crime in the Western world.

Most of Europe has already criminalized doubting the Holocaust. It is a crime even to confirm that it happened but to conclude that less than 6 million Jews were murdered.

Why is the Holocaust a subject that is off limits to examination? How could a case buttressed by hard facts possibly be endangered by kooks and anti-semitics? Surely the case doesn't need to be protected by thought control.

Imprisoning people for doubts is the antithesis of modernity.
